Amber-Rose Moss - Flutist

Robert Burgess - Accompanist

Amber lives in Stroud, Gloucestershire with her partner and children. She studied music as a mature student and gained her diploma LGSMD(P) in performance as well as Open University Diploma in Music with distinction in 2001. She studied with Jonathan Morgan, also a Stroud musician. She specialises in playing the Baroque Recorder as well as Flute.

She has performed and written original compositions for amateur dramatic groups, as well as performing in the Stroud arts festival, and at Cheltenham Town Hall and Gloucester Cathedral. She also has a successful teaching practice which she runs from home, teaching flute, recorder and piano, and likes to boast that her students pass with distinction.

She has recently formed a duo with Robert to play for weddings and other events as well as concerts.

Robert began playing piano aged five, and was an accomplished player by the time he left school, with many local performances and a concert at Chequers for the Prime Minister, John Major. He began his professional career in his early thirties as accompanist to Upstairs Downstairs, a vocal ensemble specialising in Edwardian evenings.

In 2008 he was awarded the Trinity/Guildhall Performance Diploma with distinction after studying with Eugene Asti for two years. Since then he has performed extensively as accompanist to vocal and instrumental musicians, as well as Bath festival, Leamington, and Cheltenham.

He also currently plays organ for two local churches, and accompanies for local dramatic and operatic productions, including authentic XVIth century music for Robert Bolt's A Man For All Seasons in the parish church of St Mary's in Painswick.
